Whether you're a brand new BCGEU member or you've been a member for a while, this STEP UP! workshop will introduce you to our union and help you develop your skills and knowledge around your rights as a worker and the role the union plays in supporting workers, their families, and our communities. Through stories of courage and strength, you will gain the clarity and support you need along with some useful union tools and strategies to get started with the BCGEU. You will leave feeling more informed, confident, and ready to connect with your co-workers.
A union-paid leave-of-absence is provided for this course - below, please enter the total # of employer paid hours (i.e. 8 hours)
Travel, meals and accommodation, if required, are also provided.
Reasonable child and/or other dependent care expenses may be reimbursed.
Please join fellow Local 301 Stewards for a one day, in-person workshop to learn more about Joint Labour Management Committees and your role on it. Please note that you must be on the union caucus of your JLMC to attend.
Mind your Money Series:
• Part 1 - Psychology of Spending: When it comes to getting consumers to make purchases, marketers have spent countless dollars and time towards understanding human behaviour. Participants will learn about various marketing techniques and strategies to resist temptation. Facilitated by Mark Kalinowski from the Credit Counselling Society.

Relationships & Money - Ending the Financial Feud: Participants will learn about each other's money values, triggers and goals and work together to create a manageable and tension-less plan. Facilitated by Mark Kalinowski from the Credit Counselling Society.
