Creating a vision for change – A women’s services forum

Community Social Services - Educational Opportunity

To coincide with International Women’s Day, your component – Community Social Services – is hosting a special forum for BCGEU members working the front lines in providing women’s services.

Held on March 10 & 11, 2017 at BCGEU’s headquarters in Burnaby, this forum is an opportunity for those members in Component 3 to come together and discuss the challenges we, as front line workers, face on the job and what can be done to better support women in our communities.

At the opening evening on March 10, will feature Vikki Reynolds, a facilitator who specializes in social justice and team building, as well as BCGEU President Stephanie Smith to share some inspiration that will guide us into the second full-day workshop.

Costs for attendees to attend the conference will be paid for those who are selected. This includes: leave of absence from your employer (LOA), travel, accommodation, childcare (if required), and incidental costs.

If you are interested in joining us for this conference, please fill out the below application and we will inform you if you are accepted.

Looking forward to seeing you all,

Stephanie Smith, President, BCGEU
Andrea Duncan, Component 3 Community Social Services Vice President
