We are looking for members to sit on hiring panels as Union Observers

Article 12.2 of the collective agreement enables the Union to have an observer on any selection panel in the bargaining unit. The observer must be a disinterested party and can be present during deliberations. Observers help ensure that the posting process is followed, and that people are treated fairly during the process.

LOCATION: BCGEU office, 588 Burnside Rd East, Victoria 

Training and being a Union Observer are with pay.

Any member can confidentially request an observer on any panel by emailing [email protected] with a link to the positing.

A union-paid leave-of-absence (LOA) will be provided for this course. Please provide us with the total number of paid hours required for your LOA.
