Members will have the option to attend this course in person or virtually.

In order to participate virtually, you will need access to a laptop or tablet and have either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge as your internet browser. If you are attending virtually, a training package will be mailed out to you. So please make sure that we have your current home address.

If you are attending in person lunch will be provided. If you have dietary needs please list these when you register.

This course will offer the following:

• Rights & Responsibilities of a Steward

• Getting to know your Collective Agreement

• Workplace Investigations and Meetings

• What is a Grievance

• Steps to filling out a Grievance form

As in the past, you will be eligible for a leave of absence. . Please get approval from your supervisor to attend the training and advise us that you need an LOA.

By order of the PHO, vaccination will be required to access indoor organized gatherings including conferences, meetings and workshops. Beginning September 13, 2021, you will be required to provide proof of at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine to access any BCGEU in-person training sessions and you will be required to provide proof of full vaccination by October 24, 2021. Please have your proof of vaccination ready upon entry to our training session. You will need to provide this to your course facilitator or designate.
