Mask usage in BCGEU buildings (Updated Apr 27, 2023) :

Effective immediately, we are making a change to our building protocols regarding mask usage in our buildings.

Mask use is now optional in our buildings, including in common areas and meeting rooms.
Staff and visitors to BCGEU buildings may, of course, continue to use masks and other layers of protection based on their own comfort and risk factors. We ask that we respect others and wear masks if requested in groups.

Please be reminded that no one should attend BCGEU buildings if they have active cold or flu-like symptoms.

A Steward Fundamentals course has been scheduled for your area.

Steward Fundamentals is our two-day foundation-level course for all Stewards in our Leadership, Education and Activism Program (LEAP). It will introduce you to your key roles and responsibilities as a steward and help you develop the essential skills you will need. Through discussion, interactive group activities and role-plays, you will be introduced to the key roles and responsibilities of a steward as advocate, educator, organizer and communicator. Stewards will leave feeling more confident and effective in their role and skillful in their interactions with members and the employer.

Proof of Vaccination will be required, as well you will be provided with a K95 Mask. Cloth masks are not permitted.

If the Provincial Health Orders regarding COVID changes, all registrations will revert to virtual participation.

· Priority will be given to Stewards who have not received this training, or not in the past 4 years.

· A union-paid leave of absence is provided for this course. (Please include details in your RSVP)

· Reasonable child and/or other dependent care expenses may be reimbursed.

**NOTE: In your RSVP, hotel accommodation is available for April 26 & 27 to members attending from Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge & Fort Nelson. Lunch will be provided to all attendees. Please indicate in your RSVP if you have any allergies or special dietary requirements.**
