6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

This workshop will use discussion questions, role playing, and other interactive techniques to build empathy, and raise awareness about some of the issues faced by persons with precarious immigration status (including undocumented workers). Participants can hope to leave this workshop with an understanding of:

the Sanctuary movement;
different journeys of migration to Canada;
the Sanctuary Principles of Access to Services for All and Access to Services Without Fear;
some considerations for service providers to make their services more accessible to persons with precarious immigration status; and
know your rights with respect to the Canada Border Services Agency as a community organization and/or service provider.

The BCGEU is pleased to sponsor this workshop with Sanctuary Health Vancouver. Please invite co-workers and interested family members to attend.

A light supper will be available at 5:30 pm.
