Inclusion and diversity is a key commitment at all levels of your union. At the 2017 BCGEU Constitutional Convention, delegates passed a resolution (see below) that a roundtable session shall be held for workers with disabilities.

To fulfill this resolution, a roundtable is planned for April 15-17, 2019.

At the roundtable, members will work together in a facilitated discussion to identify barriers that limit access and opportunities for union members to fully participate in union activities and business. Information gathered from members will be used to develop an action plan that will help to eliminate those barriers in your union.

If you are a worker with a visible or invisible disability and you would like to participate you are invited to rsvp below. You will be then asked to answer a few questions as part of the registration application.

There are limited seats available so we cannot guarantee everyone who registers will be able to attend but we are trying hard to make sure members from all parts of the province can attend.

Resolution language

C101: Host a roundtable for BCGEU members who identify with a disability to assist the union to identify barriers, develop and implement an action plan to ensure all members with a disability have equal access and opportunity to participate fully in the business and activities of the union;

Will you come?
