Monday, November 27: To register for the 6:00pm – 7:30pm session

Earlier this year the BCGEU held six pension sessions with Pro-Trans staff on the overview of the Public Service Pension Plan staff will be joining January 1, 2018. At those sessions, there were many questions on the opportunity to buy back past service with Pro-Trans. To be clear, every employee on the date the employer joins the plan (January 1, 2018) will have the right to buy back some or all of their past service with Pro-Trans. This is a great opportunity to increase your pensionable service that is only extended to employees of a joining employer.

In that vein, with the co-operation of your employer, we have arranged to have the Pension Corporation come and do specific sessions and a Q & A on what it means to buy back this service, how to do it, when you can do it etc. This is something every employee should attend to make an informed decision on whether or not this is something you want to do. There is a time limit for this opportunity so we strongly encourage you to attend now to find out the details. Purchasing of this service can make a huge difference to your retirement income for life.

There will be five times scheduled. Members are encouraged to sign up asap as there is limited space in each session.
