Note: You are entitled to a minimum of 08 hours of annual OH&S training, as mandated by the Workers' Compensation Act and your Collective Agreement. Please ensure that you have approval from your employer prior to applying for this EMPLOYER PAID training. We are unable to provide a union paid LOA for this course.
Please note that the BCGEU will require participants to provide proof of full vaccination at BCGEU OHS courses. Staff will scan your vaccine passport and confirm your identification upon arrival.
The use of masks is required in all BCGEU buildings, in all public spaces. The vaccine passport and use of masks is required by order of the PHO https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/info/restrictions
Participants will also need to follow the Covid-19 safety plan for our BCGEU OHS courses, which includes health screening and physical distancing, among other measures.

Women's Health and Safety in the Workplace (NEW!)
This course is open to all genders
All workers face health and safety issues at work but many of these issues affect women in particular ways. This course provides participants with the opportunity to develop their ability to identify, assess and control workplace hazards from a woman’s perspective. Please ensure that you are a union appointed committee member, and that you have taken the prerequisite Basic Committee Training course prior to registering for this course.
