In preparation for sectoral agreements contract expiry in 2019, the BCGEU is holding a Community Social Services Sectoral Bargaining Conference.

 Conference Details

 Community Social Services Sectoral Bargaining Conference

November 6th and 7th, 2017

Pacific Gateway Hotel at Vancouver Airport , 3500 Cessna Drive, Richmond

The Union will provide leave to attend the conference, make arrangements for necessary travel and accommodations, as well as cover meals and child care.

 Delegates

The number of delegates are determined by collective agreement in each local for sectoral and geographic representation. Local Chairs are delegates to the bargaining conference by right, so in some areas the call is for an alternate only in the event that a local chair cannot attend.

Members who are nominated to be a delegate must be available to attend both dates, and work under one of the sectoral agreements.

Call for nominations for delegates in Local 311 are as follows:

 Community Living Services: 2 and 1 alternate (Chair included in CL)

 General Services: 1 and 1 alternate

Nominations can be submitted by fax (250) 562-9012 or; email to [email protected] or in person at a local meeting. Please use the attached nomination form (copy if required).

Deadline to submit nominations by fax or email no later than 5:00 pm on [Tuesday, October 3, 2017], or in person at the meeting on the same date.

***The Community Social Services Sectoral Bargaining Committee members will be elected from the delegates at the conference.*** 

 Elections

Delegates will be elected at a local meeting. Details are as follows:

Delegates may submit a short bio of no more than 250 words to be presented at the meeting prior to the election. Members will only vote for the delegate(s) nominated to represent their sectoral agreement.
