We are still looking for 2 (two) bargaining committee members to represent you all in negotiating a renewal of your collective agreement. We cannot start bargaining without a committee. 
What does the bargaining committee do?  
The bargaining committee receives training, helps draft proposals, and sits at the bargaining table with the assigned BCGEU staff representative to help present issues that are important to all workers.
 
Is this a volunteer position or will I get paid?
 
We will schedule training and bargaining prep meetings during times you would otherwise be working so we can request Union leave from you Employer under Article 20.2(a)(3) of your collective agreement. Union Leave is where the Employer pays your regular wage and the Union pays the Employer back for your time doing Union business. For bargaining sessions, the Employer pays for your time.
