The BCGEU, partnered with the Canadian Red Cross, is offering the Babysitting course free to BCGEU members and their families. A light lunch is included.
This course covers everything from managing difficult behaviours to essential content on leadership and professional conduct as a babysitter.
It includes: Check, Care (includes phoning EMS/911), glove removal, recovery position, conscious choking (adult/child/baby/alone), CPR (baby/child), illness, asthma, anaphylaxis, poisoning, insect stings, wound car, head, neck and back injuries, broken bones and seizures.
This course is open to 11 - 16-year-olds. Students will receive a manual, first aid kit and a certificate.
