As a "thank you" for your service to the membership of our Union, you and your spouse, or guest, are cordially invited to attend our 2023 Activist Appreciation Event.

This year, we have decided to do a Halloween theme – everyone is encouraged to dress up. Prizes will be provided for various costumes (best homemade, most creative, etc.) 

We hope you will take this opportunity to enjoy a festive evening with your fellow activists, special guests, and Area Office staff.

WHEN: Saturday – October 21, 2023

5:00 p.m. – Cocktails, appetizers

5:45 p.m. – Introductions, speakers

6:15 p.m. – Buffet dinner

7:30 p.m. – Door prizes

8:00 p.m. – Music and dancing

Please note that it is BCGEU policy that where alcohol is served at an event, transportation to and from the event and/or accommodation for out-of-town guests, will be provided and paid for by the BCGEU - in accordance with BCGEU Financial Policy. Other costs associated with attending this Appreciation Night can be claimed in accordance with the amounts and eligible expenses indicated on the Union's Expense Claim Form. Such expense claims should be forwarded to the Cranbrook BCGEU Office for approval and processing of reimbursement.

If you will require a leave of absence from work in order to attend this event, you should obtain verbal approval from your supervisor as soon as possible, while noting that the Union will provide you with the necessary paperwork for a Union-paid leave after the registration deadline. All those requiring accommodation will have rooms reserved for them at the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. Please Note: If you are requesting a hotel room, please register prior to September 21, 2023. If you do not require a hotel room, please register prior to October 6, 2023.

We will not accept any late registrations.

If you need assistance with this, please contact the Area Office. Also, please let the Area Office know so that catering and other arrangements can be adjusted.
