A new Steward Seminar course has been scheduled for your area. This training is offered to Stewards and is developed to assist BCGEU Stewards by offering important administration and information needed by a Stewards within their role. The course does not replace the Steward Fundamental training course but is offered in addition to it until the new virtual training is developed for the Steward Fundamental Course or we can resume the normal Steward Fundamental training. The Steward Seminar is a newly created two-day foundation-level course for all stewards and is in addition to our Leadership, Education and Activism Program (LEAP). It will introduce you to your key roles and responsibilities as a steward and help you develop the essential skills you will need. Through discussion and interactive group activities, you will be introduced to the key roles and responsibilities of a steward. Stewards will leave feeling more confident and effective in their role and skillful in their interactions with members and the employer.

This course is for newly elected stewards and local offices who have not previously taken the Basic Steward Training in the past five years.

A union paid leave-of-absence is provided for this course. This 2-day steward webinar will be offered on October 28 & 29, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm each day (it will be 3 hours each day).
