The Area 03 Cross Component Committee would like to invite BCGEU members participating in the Municipal Pension Plan to join a free in-person Pension Seminar. This seminar will be instructed by BCGEU staff and will be useful our members who are within 5 years of retirement.

WHERE: BCGEU Headquarters – TKEC Rooms – 4911 Canada Way, Burnaby

WHEN: Sunday, May 28 – 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Once you have registered you will receive additional details. About four days prior to the seminar, you will receive a copy of the presentation for review and be able to submit questions up to two days prior to the seminar.

Pension Information Session: understanding the Municipal Pension Plan (MPP), Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Old Age Security (OAS), Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS). A BCGEU staff pension specialist will cover the following pension topics:

· Basics of the pension plan

· Details of the Municipal Pension Plan

· Non-Pension related items

· Increasing service in the pension plan

· Options for pension payments

· Government retirement support

· Transition into retirement

· Resources for pension planning

 The BCGEU Code of Conduct is in effect at all Cross Component Events. Any participant engaging in unacceptable behaviour may be asked to leave and not invited to future events.
