Re Register now for the next Steward Fundamentals course
A Steward Fundamentals course has been scheduled for your area. Please take a moment to register for this course.
Steward Fundamentals is our two-day foundation-level course for all stewards in our Leadership, Education and Activism Program (LEAP). It will introduce you to your key roles and responsibilities as a steward and help you develop the essential skills you will need. Through discussion, interactive group activities and role-plays, you will be introduced to the key roles and responsibilities of a steward as advocate, educator, organizer and communicator. Stewards will leave feeling more confident and effective in their role and skillful in their interactions with members and the employer.
This course is for elected stewards and local offices who have not previously taken the Basic Steward Training in the past five years. We recommend that stewards and local officers take the one-day STEP UP course before taking Steward Fundamentals.
A union paid leaves-of-absence is provided for this course. Travel, meals and accommodation, if required, are also provided. Lunch will be provided for the days you are in class.
