Commemorative Plaque Dedication and Reception - Prince George

Prince George’s rich labour history will be reflected in the dedication of two commemorative plaques on December 13. 

 

Please join us for both dedications, which will be followed by a reception.

 

On Tuesday December 13 at 3:30pm

the United Steelworkers will unveil a plaque to honour 

Charles Howard Webb (1896 – 1977)

Webb was a key figure in establishing the union movement in the Northern Interior

Venue: Steelworkers’ Local 1-424 office, 1777 Third Avenue

 

At 4:30pm, the BCGEU will unveil a plaque to recognize the momentous role of the October 1969 convention that established the B.C. Government Employees’ Union.

Venue: BCGEU Prince George Area Office, 500 Quebec Street

 

A reception will follow at the BCGEU Area Office.
